If you are fans of Haruki Murakami, the most famous contemporary Japanese author, then the Waseda International House of Literature is for you.

Designed by Kengo Kumo, a world-renowned architect (he is also responsible for the design of the new Parisian station) Saint-Denis Pleyel Scheduled to open in 2024, the library is located on the main campus of Waseda University in Tokyo. This location is highly symbolic, as Murakami graduated from this very university.
This building is exceptional in both its design and its contents. Inside, you'll find no fewer than 3,000 of his works translated into 50 languages. Furthermore, Murakami has decided to donate a vast number of items from his personal collection. Among other things, you'll find drafts, original manuscripts, and an enormous vinyl collection (approximately 20,000 records). Murakami explains his generosity by saying that he has no children; therefore, this is a legacy for everyone. The library also houses a coffee shop where you can enjoy coffees with flavors favored by Murakami, as well as a lounge where you can relax and listen to the vinyl records from his collection.
