The kochia

In Japanese, it's called "broom herb" because its dried branches are used to make… brooms! Its fruit is edible. Its appearance, color, and mouthfeel, reminiscent of caviar, have earned it the nickname "caviar of the fields.".
The best place to enjoy kochias is the Hitachi Seaside Park, Located in Ibaraki Prefecture, about two hours from Tokyo, this unique landscape is well worth the trip. Plan to spend the whole day there, but you won't be disappointed! October is the best time to visit.
The cosmos

Cosmos flowers are nicknamed "autumn cherry blossoms" in Japanese. The best place to observe them is the Showa Memorial Park, less than an hour from your favorite school. The ideal time to go is in October.
The chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemums are considered national flowers, just like cherry blossoms. The Japanese imperial throne is even called the "Chrysanthemum Throne." You can admire them just steps from the school, during the Chrysanthemum Exhibition. Meiji Shrine which takes place from the end of October to the end of November.
The lycoris

As beautiful as they are, these flowers have a somber connotation. Indeed, in the language of flowers, they are associated with death, and they are often found in cemeteries. We recommend you visit the park. Kinchakuda Manjushage, in Saitama Prefecture (next to Tokyo), between September and October.
