The Japanese love flea markets and other antique markets. In Tokyo, throughout the year (mainly on weekends), フリーマーケット (furīmāketto, from the English flea market) are held all over the capital, whether in alleys, parking lots, parks or even temple grounds.

Once a month, the Ark Hills complex, located in the upscale Roppongi district, hosts the Akasaka Antique MarkeThe promise? To recreate the atmosphere of European flea markets. Imagine a slice of Europe right in the heart of Tokyo… the contrast is striking, especially since the products come from all corners of the continent. It's truly fascinating to observe how the Japanese embrace European culture.

This flea market boasts 75 stalls! From furniture and jewelry to artwork and vintage clothing, there's something for everyone. You could easily spend the whole day there, as you'll also find plenty of food stalls and trucks to recharge and enjoy a tasty break before continuing your treasure hunt.
The Akasaka Antique Market takes place on the fourth Sunday of each month, so the next one will be held this Sunday, February 27th. To get there, simply take exit 3 at Roppongi-Itchome station.
