Each episode focuses on a customer, their relationship with a dish, and a personal conflict they need to resolve. The clientele of this small restaurant is representative of Shinjuku's densely populated neighborhood. Former actors, businessmen, dancers, film directors, and drag queens all find themselves in this oasis, a stark contrast to the frenetic atmosphere of the surrounding streets.
