Japanese animistic culture makes them sensitive to the protection of their environment. Would you like to contribute while connecting with Japanese people? Discover the association Tokyo River Friends !

What does the Tokyo River Friends association do?
Founded in 2017 by members of the NGO Jambo International, the association focuses on cleaning up rivers in the Tokyo area. Its goal is to "discover the majesty of the rivers in and around Tokyo while engaging in productive and fun activities." The association collaborates with various NGOs such as Jambo, Kokusaika, and many others for occasional joint events. This provides an opportunity for like-minded people to meet and make new friends!
A calendar of regular events serving the environment
Regular events take place every month throughout the year on the Edogawa and Arakawa rivers. For dates and activities, simply consult the [website/link]. association website (in English). The schedule is regularly updated and no registration is required.
In practice, all you need to do is go to the event location on the specified date (usually in the afternoon). This will be followed by cleanup activities along the river. The association also organizes "social" events aimed at building connections. So, if you care about environmental issues and would like to meet Japanese people (and others!) who share your values, give it a try!
